New Prior Elected for Blackfriars Priory

The Priory of the Holy Spirit is delighted to announce the election of Fr Dominic White OP as their new Prior.

This election was held following the appointment of the previous prior, Fr Nicholas Paul Crowe OP, to be Prior Provincial (head of the Dominican Friars in Britain).

Fr Dominic White comes to Oxford from St Dominic’s London (home of the Rosary Shrine) where he has been Prior for a short period; he was previously Bursar at Blackfriars Cambridge.

Fr Dominic said:

“I’m very honoured to have be chosen as Prior of Blackfriars, Oxford. The work of researching and teaching theology is at the heart of mission of the Priory of the Holy Spirit, and is very dear to my heart also. This is all vital to our work of forming the preachers and pastors of the future.

“I’m especially pleased that I will also be able, through Blackfriars Hall, to pursue my interest in the dialogue between faith and the arts. I’m looking forward too to meeting our congregation, and our main friends and supporters in the city and University of Oxford, and further afield.”
