Paschal Candle 2025

In his homily on the feast of St Athanasius (2 May), Fr Robert Ombres OP drew attention to the Paschal candle painted by Br Augustine Chen OP, which features five of the fathers of Nicaea on the back of the candle which faces the choir. We present here an explanation for this intricately designed candle, full of theology and symbolism; leaflets of this explanation are also available in the priory church.
