The funeral Mass of Pope Francis at St Peter’s Basilica will take place at 9am (UK time) on Saturday 26th April. On this day begins the ‘Novemdiales’, the traditional nine days of prayers and suffrage for the deceased Roman Pontiff. Here at Blackfriars the Dominican community will celebrate a Sung Requiem Mass for the Pope on Thursday 1st May at 6pm; a fitting day given the late Pope’s devotion to St Joseph the Worker.
