Dr Victoria De Haan

Lector

Dr Victoria De Haan is lecturer in theology in the Blackfriars Studium. She teaches a wide range of subjects in the Blackfriars Studium, focusing on the areas of dogmatic, systematic, and liturgical theology. She also covers Eastern and Latin patrology, specifically the theology of St Augustine, and modern theology, specifically the history and theology of Vatican II.

Victoria (Vika) grew up in Belarus and completed her bachelor studies in Lithuania. She obtained her doctorate in theology from KU Leuven, Belgium. Her doctoral thesis examined the liturgical theology of the Russian Orthodox theologian Alexander Schmemann and its relation to the Catholic mission of the new evangelization. Her current research focuses on the role of the liturgy and sacramental practices for Christian anthropology and spiritual formation.
